I am the Founder and President of Shearer Group, Inc. I am known as “Virginia’s Family Realtor™ as a result of my focus on helping families buy, invest, and preserve their wealth through real estate acquisitions.

Helping families is my goal as a person, not just a Realtor. I help elder family members get to and from their medical appointments so working members do not have to take time off from work or be away from youngsters. I am also helping elder members stay in their home longer through my Seniors Home Longer™ program.

Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®)

A Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) is a real estate agent who is uniquely qualified to assist the 50 plus market in housing sales and purchases. The SRES® designation is awarded only to real estate agents who have additional education on how to help seniors and their families with later-in-life real estate transactions.

SRES® designees also draw upon the expertise of a network of specialists, such as estate planners, CPAs, and eldercare lawyers, and are familiar with local community resources and services. Their mission is to help seniors and their families navigate the maze of financial, legal and emotional issues that accompany the sale of the home and assist Boomers in relocating to the home of their future.

Certified Real Estate Pricing Specialist®

My Certification as a Real Estate Pricing Specialist® has enabled me to provide valuation estimates to major banks. More importantly, it has helped me develop a standardized valuation model, the Validated Hybrid Valuation Method(TM) which helps my clients make better decisions about their NOVA residential real estate. In the last 6 months I had more than 75 home valuations accepted by banks and their agents. Compared to a typical agent, I have completed two to three times the number of valuations in 6 months than most agents complete in a year.

Master Certified Negotiation Export®

I am also a Master Certified Negotiation Expert®. I believe that every human interaction is, to some extent, a negotiation. This is particularly true in real estate. The insight and skills that come from the study of negotiation techniques helps my clients to be on the winning side of negotiations.

Certified Probate Specialist®

True to my mission to support Virginia families, I became a Certified Probate Expert®, which puts me right where I can be of value helping families with their real estate decisions during often difficult and emotional times: the transition to retirement living and the management of family estates.
